Moving beyond routine washing. Detailing focuses on deep decontamination and paint assessment. All recommendations depend upon physical inspection.

The Decontamination Phase

Even after a safe wash, paintwork often feels rough. This is bonded contamination.

Chemical Decontamination

Using specialised iron fallout removers to dissolve brake dust and industrial fallout embedded in the clear coat. Tar removers tackle sticky road residue.

Physical Decontamination

Utilising detailing clay bars to shear off the remaining microscopic surface contaminants, leaving the paint smooth like glass, prepared for polishing or protection.

Paint Assessment & Optional Polishing

Machine polishing (often termed paint correction) may improve the visual clarity of the vehicle by levelling microscopic scratches in the clear coat.

  • Inspection is mandatory: We must assess paint depth and condition before advising on polishing.
  • Realistic outcomes: Deep scratches that catch a fingernail generally cannot be polished out safely.
  • Enhancement vs. Correction: A single-stage enhancement improves gloss, while multi-stage correction aims for heavier defect removal. Results vary depending on vehicle condition.
